Teaching
Twenty years of voice teaching, from vocal technique to Italian diction for international singers.
Angela Luglio is a respected voice teacher with 20 years of teaching experience. She has worked with students of all levels across a wide range of musical styles and traditions including opera, Baroque vocal music, art song (including Lieder), villanelles and Neapolitan songs, sacred music and contemporary popular music. Since 2026, she has been a Visiting Professor at the Italian School of Middlebury College, Vermont, USA, for the “Italian for Singers” program.
Teaching Approach
Drawing on her teaching experience and collaboration with respected speech-language pathologists, Angela has developed a distinctive pedagogical approach informed by vocal physiology and principles derived from Estill Voice Training. Her approach combines traditional use of imagery and metaphor with an understanding of vocal anatomy and function. Her main goal is to support students in developing proprioceptive awareness of the physical sensations that reflect healthy vocal production, rather than teaching them to rely solely on what they hear.
Certified Estill Figure Proficiency (EFP) by Estill Voice International, and currently training to become an Estill Master Trainer (EMT).
Artistic and Professional Development
Angela provides guidance with repertoire selection, coaching for vocal performance and instruction in Italian diction and musical interpretation. For students pursuing a career in music, she offers audition preparation and personalized career advising. Her students have achieved a range of accomplishments including being selected for solo and featured performances, gaining admission to undergraduate and graduate conservatory programs, and earning master’s level qualifications in vocal chamber music at Italian conservatories.
